My name is John, and I’m 77 years old. I used to be an engineer, but now I’m retired and enjoying life as best as I can. About three or four years ago, I started feeling a sharp pain in my knee while walking. At first, it would come and go, so I didn’t think much of it. I could live with it for a while. But over the last six to nine months, the pain became much worse. Walking without a stick became nearly impossible, and even then, it was painful. I knew something had to be done.

I went to the doctor, and after an examination, I was told that I needed a knee replacement. The problem was that the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK had a waiting list of 18 months to two years for the surgery. That felt like a long time to be stuck in pain. I also looked into getting the surgery done privately, but the cost was nearly double what it would be abroad. That’s when I decided to look into other options.

Choosing Turan Turan Health Group in Turkey

At first, I wasn’t sure about traveling abroad for surgery. A lot of people told me I was mad to consider going to Turkey for a knee operation, but the long wait times and high costs in the UK pushed me to look at alternatives. After doing some research, I came across Turan Turan Health Group. One of the first things that caught my attention was the price—it was much more affordable than what I’d have to pay privately in the UK.

I started looking at reviews, and they were all positive. Turan Turan had a great reputation for orthopedic surgery, particularly knee replacements. After reading what other people had to say, I decided to give it a go. So, I booked my surgery and headed to Turkey.

Arriving in Turkey for My Surgery

From the moment we landed in Turkey, everything went smoothly. We were met at the airport and taken to the hospital by a driver arranged by Turan Turan. When we arrived, a lady who had taken time out of her own evening was there to help us get settled. It was a comforting start to what I was still a bit uneasy about.

Coming to another country for surgery was a big decision, and I was nervous about it. But as soon as I saw how professional and well-organized everything was, I started to feel more at ease. I realized that people back home who thought I was crazy for coming to Turkey were wrong. I was in good hands.

Undergoing Knee Surgery at Turan Turan Health Group

I can’t say much about the surgery itself since I was under anesthesia, but everything went very well. Afterward, the surgeon told me he was pleased with how it had gone. The best part? I didn’t feel any pain during the surgery or even after I woke up. My leg was numb at first, but over time, the feeling came back, and I started to recover.

The day after the surgery, I was able to walk. I was amazed. The nurses had me walking along the corridor and even going up and down stairs. It was incredible to see how quickly I was on my feet again.

Post-Surgery Care and Recovery

What really impressed me during my stay at Turan Turan was the level of care I received. The nurses came to check on me three times a day. They gave me injections, took my blood pressure, and changed my dressings when needed. It was more care than I could have imagined, and it made a huge difference in my recovery.

“What I’m really impressed with is the level of care. Three times a day, I’ve had nurses come in to give me injections, tablets, take my blood pressure, and change the dressing if necessary. That’s really, really very, very good.”

I had my knee surgery about four months ago, and now, as you can see, I’m almost back to normal. I can walk without a stick, ride my bike, and go up the stairs with no problems at all. The recovery has been excellent, and I’m very pleased with the results.

Reflecting on My Decision to Come to Turkey

I know many people are hesitant about traveling abroad for surgery. I was too at first. But after going through the experience at Turan Turan Health Group, I can say without a doubt that it was the right decision. The care I received was top-notch, and the cost was much more reasonable than what I would have paid in the UK.

If anyone asked me for advice on having knee surgery abroad, I would definitely recommend Turan Turan Health Group. The reputation they have for orthopedic surgery is well-deserved, and the results speak for themselves.
